The first part of this to catch my eye is the powerful contrast between the bird's gorgeous blue plumage and his intense red eye. The detail on the feathers is striking - like a million threads that cris-cross in every direction possible! Then there are the white specks throughout the pigeon's crown - its a fine detail that makes this all the more interesting.

The perspective on this, and the way the face is part of the blurred out background is what sets this apart from thousands of other bird photographs. Both of these traits make this highly interesting.

The tanish-greenish background compliments and highlights the eye.

I can't find anything wrong with this - at all. :)

This is such a fantastic shot how did you get such a good picture?! I love the contrast between the bird's eye and the blue of his body with the tiny specks of white. The angle of this shot is very eye catching as well! I love how the focus is on the intricate feathers rather than on the face! Brilliant shot! :clap:!!!

ok now i have this kind of bird i took a pic of on my profile now they said they were called new guinea crowned pigeon wonder if its sub species ? but anyway good angle and i got to pet this bird.....it growled at me...

It might be this one, they are from New guinea. But this is their name.
